Travel Learn Change allows interested donors to support small-scale, innovative education projects in developing nations. Funds are given to local leaders whose efforts help to change the lives of children in their communities. In Rusodef, Ghana, $100 can provide two children with a bicycle and one year of school fees, which allows them to attend an otherwise unreachable middle school. In Kenya, a $400 donation recently enabled the expansion of a small primary school, helping to increase both quality and access to education for over 100 children. (Read more.)
To celebrate this holiday season, please consider making a small donation to TLC in honor of a friend or family member. When you are done, you can print a gift card insert with your personal message and a brief description of how the donation will be used to help educate children in Ghana and Kenya.
Thank you for your support!
Support the expansion of Nyadeng’i, a rural primary school, so that more children can attend, have school supplies, and be served food during the school day. These children, ages 5 to 10, have been severely impacted by the region’s malnutrition. (Read more.)
Your donation to these neighboring communities will provide school supplies for two primary schools and a library serving the entire region. The supplies, as specified by the school head masters and a councilman, will be delivered directly to the schools in March 2010. (Read more.)
In the Northern Ghana community of Rusodef, residents face many development challenges, including lack of clean water, desertification, and schools that are far from where they live. Initially, we hope to support this community’s youth by providing them with bicycles and school fees. To attend school after fifth grade, students must bike many kilometers. In Rusodef, bicycles are shared so that two children can ride each bike. For $100, two children’s annual school fees and a used bicycle can be purchased. (Read more.)
